The New School Building Project
In July 2022, Becket were chosen to be developed as part of the Department for Education's (DfE) School Rebuilding Programme (SRP).

The "Topping Out Ceremony" didn't happen due to the severe wind warnings, however, lots of progress has been made!
- Ground floor and first floor slabs complete;
- Roof is water tight – they are adding insulation layers and parapet panels;
- 1st floor corridor walls built for mechanical, electrical and sprinkler work to start on 8th December;
- 1st floor windows installed will be installed week beginning 8th December;
- Ground floor brick work to start on 15th December;
- Retaining walls around MUGA and tarmac to be completed before Christmas

They have done some more works on the drains and are nearly there with the roof - ready for the "Topping Out Ceremony".

- Continue with earthworks
- Start preparing foundations for the steel frame
- Install the lift shaft

A brief summary of the next activities:
- Continue with earthworks, with multiple wagons taking rubble and materials offsite each day
- The large excavation behind the fence is for the attenuation tank (designed to collect and store excess surface water run-off ) beneath the MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area)
- Next big visible change will be when a crane arrives to install the lift shaft, hopefully in early August, and the steel frame starts to be built
